So we weren't sure how we were going to get a Christmas Tree in Michigan- do they even grow those types of trees here?- just kidding. They do. Paul (another resident in the program) invited us out to his wife's family tree farm to hunt for a tree. They live about 45 minutes away from us so we figured it would be another nice opportunity to get out of Ann Arbor and see more of Michigan. When we got there we thought we would just get a tree and go home...but we were in for a treat. Katie's Dad invited us up to the house to meet the family, where Katie, her two sisters in law and her mom were all making Christmas cookies. Mmmm...It was like something from a story book. A little snow, Christmas trees, Christmas cookies, kids running around and the nicest family you ever met. They even shared their Thanksgiving leftovers! It reminded me of the good old days on my Grandparents' farm with lots of family, food and talking all day. We had a great time and picked out a very nice tree- 7 feet tall... to begin with.
Who needs an SUV- the Camry comes through again! The poor thing is a multi purpose vehicle whether it was intended to be or not.
This is Paul and his father in law with their tree bundler. I'm not sure the tree would have worked out for us without that.
Lainey got a front row seat for the decorating party. We got the tree inside and barely had room for the star and to walk around the tree so back outside it went and David lopped off another foot of tree. That seemed to help a lot. Now we have a 6 foot tree- still plenty of room for all of our favorite ornaments.
Here is a closer picture in case you couldn't see the drool. Yes, we have a slobber-pus on our hands. she loves to blow bubbles and soak the front of her shirts. This is something new for me. She has never been a spitter upper, so we haven't had to carry around "burp cloths" or bibs. From the looks of it we may have to start... or get ready to get wet!

The camery is amazing! I got a good laugh out of that! Sounds like you had a fun day! Lainey is a doll, I think you would rather have a baby that slobbers than spits up. Avery is a spitter and I cannot tell you how many times I have had to change my clothes because she gets me good, and then I stink!
Lainey has gotten so big! It's amazing how much they change from a newborn to a baby! She's gorgeous, and looks alot like you! What a fun Christmas Tree trip and I'm so glad you remembered your camera to remember it all!
