Lainey's 6th birthday...to be continued...

Lainey turned 6! That means these have been the most action packed 6 years of my life! She was so excited all day for her date with Daddy. She picked out her outfit- and his- and painted her nails. She even wanted to put on some "pretty spray" as she calls it. He came home from work with flowers, gum, and tictacs, to which she responded, "are the just for me?" Wow. Gum and tictacs all her own to keep in her own bedroom and only share if she wants to. The boys will be nice to her for days if she plays her cards right. :) David took her to a Japanese restaurant where she got to watch the chef cook right in front of them, flipping eggs high in the air and setting things on fire. They even made her a special set of kids chopsticks with a rubber band- genius idea- I should ask for some of those next time! She ordered "big person food" and liked it. She even brought her leftovers home, saying, "it was so good and there is enough leftover for days!!" :) That is, until Emery got into it and ate all of the steak and eggs out of both her leftovers and David's. She told him to stop at one point and the sneaky little guy just sat there and picked little pieces out every time she wasn't looking until there was nothing left. It was funny to watch. This is the first year we haven't had all of her neighbor friends over for her birthday, so I'm glad she had a great time. We are going to use the special occasion as an excuse to visit the Clearwater aquarium this weekend- a very special place to any of you who have seen the movie, Dolphin Tale. That is where winter and hope, the famous dolphins live.
