Isn't he beautiful! So peaceful and comfortable without his oxygen! He spent most of the night before this photo was taken with the oxygen on his lip, so they figured it was worth a shot to see how well he would do without it. He did great! No more tubes on his face for now! Actually, he looks a bit naked to me because I'm used to seeing him with at least his NG-tube stuck to one side of his face or the other unless we were going in for photos. Now that he has his G-tube he won't need the NG anymore unless they have to drain his belly more than what the G-tube can put out. Right now I am still a fan of the NG-tube because that is what we were used to and though it was ugly, I thought it was so much nicer. A lot less headache if it got pulled out, that's for sure! Oh well. Off to the next thing and we are going to make the best of it!

Child life brought in this cute little classic toy. Emery loves music, both when played for him and when he can play it himself. When the music therapist came in this time Emery was actually able to play with him. He tried getting the therapist to play catch, but it was difficult to do since he plays the guitar. :) He was thrilled when we handed him the little piano and he played away on it while the therapist played the guitar.

The nurse you see on the left was one of Emery's primary nurses in the PICU. Over there the nurses can pick their patients and sign up to be the primary nurse for patients who will be there for a while. I this case it was nice because Andy is also a friend- her boyfriend works with David in the oral surgery department. It is soooo nice to have consistent nursing care for Emery- both for his sake, and for ours.
