So we decided to move on Sunday, June 8th. We wanted to give ourselves as much time as possible to get to Michigan and have a couple of days to move in before David had to start his program on June 18th. We enlisted several of our strong male family members to help with the heavy lifting, which was to begin promptly at 7:00 am with some coffee (thanks James) and gourmet Joe's Dougnuts, courtesy of my Dad...yum. We had to get some of those in one last time before we left.
With all of his moving experience, we cornered Jason in the truck for the cramming and fitting everything together. He made it look easy and we ended up with room to spare- even after stopping in Welches to load up some more stuff! What a pro.
Connor and Jana brought Mara up and we said our last goodbyes. They managed the apartments where we lived for 4 years and David went to school with Connor. We became good friends with them and have enjoyed watching Mara grow and learning some dynamite parenting skills. They introduced us to some great games and we enjoyed spending time with them whenever we had a chance. We are going to miss them greatly.
We ended up being finished around 11:00 am- right on time...we couldn't have done it without all of these guys. We appreciate the help!

Next stop...Estacada to visit Grandma and Grandpa Kelley one last time before the move- she had the Peach Cobbler ready!
Finally, we made it to my parent's house around 3:00 pm where Jason loaded up some more stuff my mom had saved for baby and visited with some of our closest friends and family. I couldn't move over half way across the country without spending one last night where I grew up...there is no place like home.... 50 miles in the first day- not too shabby. : ) Here are a few photos of our fun last evening together.
I think we are ready!
